Integrated Pest Management (IPM) focuses on the reason that the pest problem exists rather than on just the pest itself.
There are three main elements to this approach:
1. Cultural Control
Is your house a permanent source of food, shelter and water for pests?
Lazy hygiene and sanitation habits offer the ideal environment for pests.
A German cockroach will find a dirty kitchen very attractive.
Ants are attracted to pet bowls left out.
Clean up your property both inside and out.
Are there any items under the house that could attract pests?
2. Physical Control
If you know where rats are entering your house then block the entry point.
Do you have fly screens on every door and window? Big ugly cockroaches can inadvertently fly through an open window.
Why create an ant highway? Trim all tree branches back from your house.
Do you store anything under the house that my attract pets?
Have you blocked birds from entering your roof cavity and nesting?
3.Chemical Control
To complete the ‘program’ you should regularly treat your house with a residual insecticide.
We treat all areas of your home including the roof void with AVPMA approved pesticides.
Should a pest inadvertently enter your home it will pick up a lethal dose of the active ingredient and eventually crawl away and die.

The treatment may include the use of baits, gels, monitors, traps, liquid spray, dusting.
Treatment follows the following format:
1. Pre inspection of site and discussion with client any immediate concerns they may have.
2. Risk Analysis. Client is advised about any items/situations that may impede a safe and effective treatment e.g. the removal of children’s toys, pets, pet food etc.
3. Treatment performed as above.
4. Site restoration
5. Post treatment de brief with client. Any potential concerns that need to be monitored are discussed.
