Brisbane Carpet Cleaning
Did you know your carpets harbour all sorts of nasties that are bad for your health including E. coli? Nasties that include faecal matter, bacteria, urine, smoke, exhausts, insecticides to name a few.
Think about where your feet or shoes travel throughout the day and chances are some of that is lurking in your carpet…….yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you really want your kids lying in this? Without regular professional cleaning your carpets could be contributing to you or your family’s ill health.
The Carpet Cleaning Industry
Only experienced, trained, fully qualified carpet cleaners using the highest quality carpet pre sprays and the latest steam cleaning machines can successfully remove all the hidden nasties in your carpet.
But how do you find these carpet cleaners?
Unfortunately because the Brisbane carpet cleaning industry is unregulated it attracts many unprofessional and un trained operators who simply do not know what they are doing. Saturated carpets and poor results pervade the industry. Scams like ‘bait and switch’ are commonplace where low over the phone ‘quotes’ are ‘bumped’ to higher prices once the cleaner arrives.
What to look for when choosing a Carpet Cleaner
Finding a professional carpet cleaner that can ‘do the job’ is not all that difficult provided you know what to look for and what questions to ask.
1. Carpet Cleaning Equipment
Portable carpet cleaning machines do not clean your carpets as well as truck mounted petrol driven machines. Portables are electric and run off 2 small motors. They do not heat their own water nor do they have anywhere near the same amount of suction that a truck mounted machine has.
Many poorer quality operators use them because they are cheap to buy. Obviously if you live in a unit or an apartment you will need to use them and there are a few good operators who can achieve good results.
However if you have a choice then always go for a truck mounted machine like the prochem Everest that we at Freshen Up Services use. It’s simply the best truck mounted steam cleaning machine money can buy.Period! The 49HP petrol driven truckmounted Everest produces its own extreme heat and extraordinary vacuum meaning excellent results and drier carpets. In combination with our experience, quality pre sprays and techniques your carpets will never look and feel better.
2. Carpet Cleaning Industry training
Think about this for moment- 90% of carpet cleaners in Brisbane have no formal industry training!
So 9 out of 10 carpet cleaners that walk thru your door have never attended any type of available industry training. That’s the priority they place on doing a good job!
We have attended and completed formal training courses run by The Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration and The Australasian Carpet Cleaning Institute-the two main industry training organizations.
3. Carpet Cleaning Industry experience
When you consider it takes four years to learn many trades how is it that someone can buy a carpet cleaning machine at 9.00am in the morning and be out cleaning carpet by 10.00am? What sort of apprenticeship is that?
For over 10 years we have cleaned 1000’s of carpets for homeowners, vacating tenants, commercial clients and property managers.
4. Carpet Pre Sprays
Can you really be sure what your carpet cleaner is spraying on your carpet? You see him disappear into his van and emerge with this coloured liquid which is subsequently sprayed all over your valuable carpet.
There are a huge number of carpet pre sprays or ‘shampoos’ as many people call them on the market. Many are cheap and nasty with all sorts of ‘additives’ designed to give a fast ‘result’ but are not necessarily good for you or your carpet. Stay away from high pH pre sprays.
Ask to see what is being used on your carpet-after all you’ll have to live with the results. Cheap high pH pre sprays can damage your carpet and lead to rapid re soiling.
Choose a company that uses only premium quality carpet pre sprays designed for each carpet fibre type.
We only use premium carpet presprays from Prochem. Their formulations are developed to meet strict performance, safety, quality and environmental criteria which is why professional bodies such as the Carpet and Rug Institute and leading carpet manufacturers like Shaw industries recommend and endorse them.
Factors that determine the price/quote include:
* Carpet age and wear
* Carpet style and fibre type
* Condition of carpet
* Client requirements
* How dirty the carpets are.
* Area to be cleaned in rooms or square metres.
* Client requirements-basic or more intensive service.
Minimum charge of $90 applies to all jobs.. Over the phone estimates subject to correct description. Houses and townhouses only.
If you are not delighted with the results then feel free to withhold your payment.
